In my ongoing quest to find a decent removable LED flashlight for the lift bar, I picked up the Inova X3A Bike Light yesterday.

I needed a new bike light for commuting and instantly saw the dual purpose of this light for seeing better in the upper bunk. I don't always like wearing my headlamp in the van and didn't want to string lights into the pop top. Kind of spendy, but the added lumens will be nice. When not needed for camping I can use it to keep me from getting run over. Sorry for the grainy pic.

for years I did similar, with cheap led bike lights
I had about 5 of them up there
Now I have led strips, up in pop top and down below. Even though I like my bike light solution, the led strips are the cat's ass.

Yes, same. I paid too much. I still like the light though. |

I have one of those adapters that allow you to put a flashlight on your handlebars and some ebay led flashlights. You don't need to spend much these days to get some amazing lights. I also have an actual bike headlight with a larger battery pack that rocks. I put them on my roof rack when I'm camping and need some exterior light.
Look for the cree led flashlights that take an 18650 rechargeable battery. The more powerful leds go through batteries a bit faster than the less intense ones and the rechargeables are inexpensive and last quite a while.
You used to have to pay a lot to get a lot but now plenty of the lights on ebay and amazon are pretty damn good. |

Current hot setup for value are the 3 Cree 180 lumen flashlights in the 3 pack at Costco for $20. Serious value - toss one in each car. They also use cheap and popular AA batteries. _________________ 1987 2WD Wolfsburg Vanagon Weekender "Mango", two fully locked 80 Series LandCruisers. 2017 Subaru Outback boxer. 1990 Audi 90 Quattro 20V with rear locking differential, 1990 burgundy parts Vanagon. 1984 Porsche 944, 1988 Toyota Supra 5 speed targa, 2002 BMW 325iX, 1982 Toyota Sunrader |
