Hi everyone,
What is the correct color for the stock wheels on my 72 coupe? The wheels on my car are original I THINK, but they are rusty, crusty, and dusty. They have also been painted black, which looks awful.
I would like to have the wheels sandblasted, and either powder coated or painted. What would you all recommend, paint or P/C? Also what is the correct color and color code? Also what is the purpose of the beauty rings? Are they stock? Who makes the best aftermarket hubcaps? DXo you have any good pics of stock wheels?
Thank you,

Thank you! The pictures are perfect. With respect to the silver color, is there a specific color code for the wheels that I should use? Can a powder coater use color codes? Is powder coating the best way to go?
Thanks,

Paint codes can be found here.

looks like L91
Although many people powdercoat their wheels, I prefer sandblasting and painting over powdercoating. Its been repeated several times that the powdercoating under the lugnuts can crack and then you can have loose nuts. If you go the powdercoat direction pay attention to the lugnut area and retorque if needed. |
