You mean like "famous last words" ?

My battery is OK

I re-checked the spark plug wires order

The coil is wired correctly

I adjusted the timing right

The carb is getting fuel

It CAN'T be....

I've tried EVERYTHING !!!

I don't need a spare tire, I NEVER get flat tires or blowouts

MY fuel filter won't leak and catch the engine on fire

I don't need to wear a seat belt

My car ALWAYS starts

I've never had trouble on the road

I don't need to use a torque wrench

Points are fine I changed them last spring.... Rolling Eyes Must be the carb then, huh?

I don't need that wire to the idle solenoid, cuz all that emissions stuff is better left unhooked or left off.

One of favorites (non air-cooled VWs):

AC only needs a recharge
...that means that there's a leak, which must be found and repaired, and usually not so straightforward, then evacuation and recharge. And sometimes a guess on how much refrigeration oil to add back....

My favorite. "Just needs a tune up" -Personally said to myself.

Meanwhile, 1 whole engine rebuild later, I finally have a nice running bug.
