I spent ages trying to find a cab table for my '74 Westy. I found the table top here, the NOS leg there and both of the little brackets for the dash istelf in two more locations. I thought I had the complete set until I saw this today:

what's item #7 for then?

oh, after spending so long finding all the parts to make up the table the one thing I still haven't found (other than item #7 obviously Wink

) is a good use for the table. I can't use it while driving, stuff slides off it. When I'm parked up to have some lunch in the van with the family, it gets in the way of the walkthrough and anyway, we're in the back eating, not the front. Does anyone get good service from their cab table? If so, in which occasions? I'd like to use it more, it took long enough to gather up!!

Best thing that table is for is the cool factor. People seem to think its very rare and hard to find. Im surprised it took you as long as you say. There are atleast 4 I saw the other day in the classys in various conditions and prices.

They look the part at a show all set up, especially on later 76 and up campers with the pass swivel seat set to the back.

Im not sure what that piece is for. My book is packed up so I cant look it up Crying or Very sad

thanks notchboy. it took so long to find as I'm in Ireland and it was back in '04ish that I went looking for the stuff.

anyone else found a good use for the table? Sadly the '74 Campmobile layout doesn't permit the swivel seat. I love the full width bed but I am jealous of the space that's opened up by the swivel seat.

I've got the dash brackets for one of these on my '75 but the table was long gone when I bought the Bus along with the rest of the camping gear. I've thought about making one but haven't bothered. Not sure it would clear my shifter extension anyway...

It looks like it could be the strap that hold the leg to the bottom. I have one on my campmobile table in the back.

My table doesn't have anything like part that on there. But it had been modified by the PO, so anything is possible. I'll look for screw holes on it tonight.
The PO of my bus moved the bracket on the dash and the leg bracket so that the table can be mounted in front of and slightly to the side of the passenger. It actually works really well there, since you can have it in place and shift gears at the same time.

I've found a good use for it, I bought the table and hardware from Raul on here, and got the leg elsewhere, then retro fitted it to my 76, 8 seater microbus. I also have the box that fits between the seats in the walkthrough, great for a quick lunch in the front of the bus with the kids, and then just tie it and the leg behind the seat with a bungee after. So it's a great accessory for non camper buses, passenger buses are limited in options for on board picnics when the middle bench seat is in place, a great solution to make my bus more versatile. Sorry, but I have not got a clue what #7 is for.

I wonder what the asking price is for an original #9 bungee cord? Is it a contender for "rarest of the rear"? yellow bucket price territory? or splitty Mauser wash basin prices even???

I think I've set mine up once in the last three years. It usually just stays stowed behind the driver seat. Definite cool factor for shows though!

Those original bungees are impossible to find! I will sell you mine for 500.00 Very Happy

honestly they are just run of the mill bungee cords. Finding a silver one may be difficult but my 35 year old one is toast.

Where we have found the front table useful is waiting in a Ferry line-up, and having a coffee and a snack, or, pulling over at a scenic spot and eating a sandwich while on a road trip. It is more for the times when you don't want to open up the stuff in the back of the camper. Also, it offers great table top storage when camping, for books, folded clothes, etc.

sounds like they're best for just very occasional use. The one time I used mine and thought "this is great!" was while using the van to move house, the back was FULL of our stuff and we stopped off mid-journey for a McD's drive thru. I set up the table while waiting for the order and we pulled into a parking spot to eat. Worked a treat but that was just once in 9 years of ownership!!
