So Yep done the search
The bushings as supplied from our vendors come with a metal bonded donut
and a plain rubber donut.2 of each
My question is..should the metal bonded one be on the front side, or the rear side of the mount.
For some reason the PO of mine van averaged , and did one each way?
I can think of reasons to go each way.
...but am inclined to put the metal bonded one on the front (of the van) side
Bentley is no help on this.
Maybe both ways are right?/or wrong?
opinions welcome...lets have a consensus..please
In case it matters 86syncro

Hi!
thanks for the kind words
The transmission has been holding good, I have a reliable set up, the transmission nose rubber mount has been re-inforced with some liquid tight electrical conduit piece to wedge/fill the mount gaps:the transmission is heavier than the VW,and it was sagging, causing shifting issues.
It's been a marvel to drive, and every morning and get to push the 2nd gear all the way up to 80KM/H (50 mph) on the on ramp to the free way,I just love the Subaru engine as well, although it would need more power with this transmission to use 5h gear, but small island anyway,no need
It's been so reliable compared to any diesel I had before that I forgot the fuel filter had 40K miles when last week end I decided to do a little maintenance on the engine: 10K for the oil and filter, 25K for the air filter ooops
