I am coming into town this Sunday for an all day event at the Kaiser Permanente Pavilion and am looking for any good parking suggestions close by. Even more importantly, perhaps would be suggestions of where not to park.
I will be in the van and it would be great if it was a place I could use the van as a base camp and maybe even grab an hour nap in the middle of the day (my day will be starting very early).
It seems there a couple of parking structures nearby, but if there was a nice quite place nearby that would work better I would appreciate any tips.
Thanks! |

I am not a Santa Cruzer but the SC cops have a reputation of really going after people sleeping in vehicles. I think the ticket is several hundred dollars. Hopefully a more local local will give you some tips. _________________ 4 speed 88 Westy |

Don't cross laurel towards downtown. The closer you are towards the water the less you will be bothered.
Don't pop the top and keep the shades pulled and you should be fine.
I know of a guy in town that has been sleeping in his van for a few years. He parks adjacent from my house a few days a week and the neighbors know the van but nobody has seen him. If you keep it down low you will be fine.
Across the river to the right is a cool sk8 park with a street course, a couple pools and a full pipe if you want to round out your day of fun.
