Wow, great save!
I really liked that bus before it rolled, and thought it was totaled in the accident.
Never thought that anyone could actually bring it back to life. |
Most would have considered it to be totaled. im not most. thank you for the kind words. and im looking forward to seeing your sunroofsskombi at bulli this year too. _________________ Jason Stratton 407 497 9944

Wow hat's of to you "Jason vw"
I'm seriously high on Highroofs and seeing the first pics in this topic my stomach went upside down!!
Can I plse ask who made the long corner for you? wast that a tailored job from KF?
Also who made the panels above the swage line?
My mate has recently bought a RHD which is pretty beaten up as the PO blasted it with some kind of industrial machine
Afterwards they've tried the beaten the panels back out with as result they're useless and need to be replaced.. especially the front panel above the cab is a difficult one.. will be a hard job but after seeing this ...
Truelly amazing!
Do you have a more recent pic in it's full glory.. ? And do you mind if I use some of your pictures here?
I'd like to put a little write up on my blog which is in light of Highroofs.. _________________ oUr rOaDTrIp adVeNTuReS

swage line appears to be the "belt line"? where the top and bottom of the bus meet. _________________ regards

here are some shots of us test fitting the new long panel.
if youve never done this the best way to describe handeling somethng so large is like getting a picnic table to hang on a couple thumb tacks on your wall at home...make sense? _________________ Jason Stratton 407 497 9944

here ive got the top long panel installed for reference (btw this being a high roof means this panel is larger than the lower half, remember the picnic table illustration?) and im body working the lower half of the twisted metal so everything lines up again. did i mention it was hit by a semi truck right?
thats all for tonight _________________ Jason Stratton 407 497 9944

They cut out the vents and put the correct ones on. I don't think Gerson makes a later style long panel just the early BD ones.
Great work guys! _________________ "There is only one sin; disconnection from self." |

Magician is the word that comes to mind. After seeing some of these pics, I feel like I lucked out big time on getting mine done by someone who knows a ton on how to turn a lemon into lemonade. Sick work man! _________________ Rob
