Done bug cv's today that still had the black undercoating on them. Chamfer edge and no groves.

The flang on the stub axles is cup shaped too so you can see how the chamfer side fits into it. At least on the bug. Going to Yuma this weekend. Might do the bus cv's in the morning. Labro's on it, but Porshe. Son taking his stock 57'. Long trip with him. Mike, come with us!

Thanks for the invite Jim. But I need to get my act together instead. Maybe next year.
Saw a nice VolksStock pic. Look familiar?

Just to play devils advocate here... Before I knew any better... I took all 4 apart(3 lobro and 1 generic), stuck em in a parts washer, reassembled with mixed and matched parts with no regard for orientation.
4000 miles so far and no clicking or clunking. I do keep 2 new lobros under the bed just in case.

Note the orientation of the small to large segments of the inner and outer races. If there is only 1 Groove in the outer race, it faces away from Axle.

Chamfers always toward Axle

Note: if the outer race has 4 grooves as pictured the side with 3 grooves faces away from the Axle.
