Found a source for the bungee.. Custom made colors and patterns. I sent a picture of the cord i have for the patten, sizing is 5mm.. They said no problem.. I just have to figure out how to move 1,000 meters of bungees!! Laughing Laughing LOL... Now.. If we can just get some help on the brass crimps, we can product perfect reproduction bungees for SO-23 owners in need...

When you get to making them, how long will they be? I imagine there should some stretch involved.

How long are the originals center of loop to center of loop?

Perhaps the brown/beige bungees are for SO23s with the yellow and black interiors and the red/white bungees are for red and black interiors. Although mine still has the original bungees, I'd like to find or make some very close replacements. Even though I am a "stock nazi" I'd prefer to have the bungee as close as possible versus the crimps. I wonder if the old crimps can be carefully pried off and reused on new cord.
my bus has yellow/black interior and has the red/white bungees
i need to make a change to an earlier post i made; i looked yesterday at the og bungee that was found inside my closet and it is NOT a red/white bungee; it IS a brown/white color

Funny thing is.. I got a faded bungee this weekend from a friend and his looking red... We pulled the clip off and it as the same color brown as mine (under the clip).. So..I think when they fade, the red die in the brown color mixture must be the last color to fade out... I got 3 samples this weekend and under the clip.. They all match mine.. (pictured)
It is going to be a month or so.. But i will be selling the bungee material by itself and with the clips (made by hand).. But I'm not going to make very many sets.. I just don't have the time... Confused I just want to get my money back...

here is my perfect bungee, while referred to as red earlier in this thread it is more of a reddish brown, definitely not straight brown and tan though. this bungee is about as close to straight from westfalia-wiedenbruck as you can get.

looking forward to your reproductions though bubba

Here's one more good thing.. They are going to made from cotton material on the outside pattern... So, if you want to make then look faded, I think you could just lightly bleach and water them to make them look old... Very Happy

It's hard to see it in the picture.. But the brown I picked is a reddish brown tint.
