Just rescued this '65 DC from the boonies of SC, where it was parked under a shed for the last ten years, picking up less then 300 miles. Complete and sound, with some obligatory rust on the gate bottoms. After some mechanical freshening, I'll drive it to its new home in Knoxville. |

I think they are the one of the best buses VW made you get six passengers and a truck bed for anything you need to do. I had a guy a few weeks ago wanted to trade his Nova and seven grand for mine. I smiled and told him it wasn't for sale. That probably was a good deal at some point in time and Nova's are still everywhere not double cabs.
Congrats on your new Doca... _________________ Think big drive a bus...

Thanks. I have been kicking myself for the last 10 years for selling my 65 Sundial, hopefully this helps me get over it.
I am starting to do a lot of swap meets, so I figured it made sense to get a DC to haul the parts and the kids to the shows (you know, justification....) _________________ Matt Johnson

People just love the DCs. I have a 21 window(customer bus), freshly painted dove blue 66(customer bus), my 53 Barndoor and the 61 DC. And when people come over that haven't seen any of them, they act as if the others aren't even there. And go straight to the DC. Crazy. _________________ 53 Hatch Barndoor

Hello all,
I'm a lurker on this site. I don't own a double cab but I sure do want one. Seems like they can't be bought in any remotely usable condition for less than $12k. Why does everything I want have to be so expensive?
Great dc's everyone!

Have you seen this one? It's a bay window (my personal preference) and is close to you and is not too expensive:

If I didn't already have one, I'd be all over this. _________________ John

A 58 I had, sold it in the late 90s. Yeah I should have keep this one too.

I posted this picture about a year ago, I now belive that it was a 59 and not a 58 as I thought.(Pre-Samba days=Poor Info.) If I didnt have a bus and was going to buy one it would be a DC, best of both worlds IMO. I bought this one from my kid it was about half done at the time, you know lowered, big engine, safari windows, chrome wheels Porsche hubcaps, crazy Orange paint all of the cool 80s -90s stuff, didnt fire my rockets at the time so I sold it. |

Is it just me or does it look like there is a lower cargo door hinge under the open front door?
That's kinda cool
RHD? Or LHD LH Cargo door? _________________ Wow look at that THAT'S A "SHOW CAR"!!
