Ive got a set of locking lugs on my buggy and I dont have the key socket. I dont want to use them again. Short of taking an angle grinder with cutoff wheel to the lugs, what are my options?

First try a big new vice grips. Then take a 12 point socket (you don't care about") and pound it over the locker/--- then the angle grinder and cut 2 flats in the side and use an open end wrench,/--- then cut 6 flats in it and try a socket.

I'd probably try making 2 sides flat then getting on it with a big adjustable hammer (crescent wrench Wink )

The best way is to take a 12 point socket that is alittle smaller than the lugnut hammer it on and then remove it then remove the socket and punch the lugnut out thru the back and repeat that's what I do work's everytime Wink

If the socket trick doesn't work. find a tire or repair shop that has the kit for removing wheel locks (we have one) and they'll take care of the problem in seconds.

I fkn hate wheel locks, nothing is better than digging through a customers car for 20 minutes to find the key that's sitting in their garage at home......

X2 ^^^^
I had a flat tire on a trip in my 63 panel and went to change my tire and realized that I had left my tool bag with the lock adapter at home. After a call to AAA and a short detour to a tire shop it was fixed no problems. I figured the locking adapter would be toast but nope it was reinstalled on my car. My guess is there are only a few different patterns that they use and the shop had kit with all of them.

FYI, The "kit" is just a bunch of different sockets that hammer on to the nut and have teeth that grip it to turn it off. it doesn't have anything that fits in the lock itself.

I had some locking lugs on my Matrix when I bought it, I tolerated them for a few years till I stripped the tool out. I called the company and emailed them a picture of the lugs - $15 and 2 days later I got the key and I never put the locking lugs back on.

If you have a tire shop IE (Discount tire) around they have lock remover sockets that can take them off and you can talk them out of one.

Get a 3/4"-7/8" nut and weld it onto the lock then remove it with a socket.

you know you could just weld the lugnuts to the wheels and studs, then no one gets your wheels unless they take the whole car
