Well finally getting back to the 21, we already had the belly pans just down far enough to fix the outriggers but I didn't like the way it looked and decided to go all the way. Few more things then off to the sand blasters.

First I installed correct taillight lenses and polished out chrome rings.
Then since I had decklid open I thought I would finally paint decklid mount
I welded on last year. Black was bothering me.
Paint isn't a perfect match but close enough for me.
Another reason that I love the whole "Patina thing" Doesnt have to be perfect.

Can't believe I hadn't done this before now. I guess I never really noticed them, But I polished up my coat hooks. Not perfect but better than they were. But perfect for a "Patina" bus.

Have you considered simply starting with a nicer bus? I don't know what your skills are, but the race is easier if you can see the finish line. If you are not a runner, don't start off doing a marathon. |

Nice rainy weekend turned into a few hours of beers in the garage... with razor blades and steel wool! After years of looking at that nasty window overspray/corrosion/etc it was time to clean up the brightwork. Turned out great...and as a side bonus the steel wool eliminated my fingerprints.

Hello everyone, Merry christmas from Perú. I'm working in my bus T2 assembled in Perú. I'm searching wire harness to my bus Kombi 1971 to rewire. someone could put a link to buy from EEUU.
ahh, I was forgetting, I did this today on my bus.
I'm posting some pictures to any recommendation.
Sorry, my English is very bad.

The bus stalled and ran badly yesterday. Suspected bad gas causing a dirty carb. Greg took the carb apart; it looked clean. He cleaned it anyway, reassembled, bus would not start, just sneered and gave us the finger. Then I noticed a
massive chunk of black goo clogging the fuel line, trying to get into the fuel filter, but not quite getting through the clear plastic where it narrows. Thank goodness for an easily visible and accessible filter.
I pulled the hose off the inlet, and pushed the clog into the filter with a metal pick. It was about the size of a small pea.
Put the fuel line back on the filter, and it fired up on command
Very odd. Bad gas causing this? Ethanol? |
