Just letting everyone know there has been 3 bugs stolen in the Modesto ,ca area
Here are some pictures and descriptions of them if you have any info please call the Modesto police department
1959 ragtop(recovered found in alley)
Parts missing front fenders,pop outs, hood ,the front clip was started to get cut
1967 vw bug
Has metal roof rack and white smoothies
1966 vw bug
Green dark paint stock wheels

I guess they got spooked it something not to take them but seems they wanted the clip more than anything

Well good news the green 66 bug was found the thief ran out of gas around the corner from her house in an alley way
The 67 bug was found tonight at a wrecking yard on 9th.st in Modesto found it on Craigslist scrolling threw and saw the picture opened it up it was the bug that was stolen after sometime another good friend helped Adam get ahold of the owner of the wrecking yard and let them in the bug was in the same spot as the add on Craigslist after that the owner of the place showed them the paperwork with a copy of the theirs license and it is the same guy that took the 59 ragtop and looking like the 66 also here are some photos of the Craigslist add and pictures of the thief and name

I hope you filed a police report. Did this person get arrested and the seller charged with receiving stolen property?

Yes my friend Adam did a police report the owner of the wrecking yard is working with him and the police

| So is the guy in the pics the one who was stealing these cars, or did he purchase them from said thief? Hopefully heads roll for this. Pretty ballsy move to post a pic of the stolen car on Craigslist. |

The guy in the pic(s) is the guy that was stealing the vws he sold it to the junk yard don't know anymore info ,but my friend Adam showed him the picture if him and the owner said that he was the one that brought it in he has a copy of is id and paperwork
Adam went and got his bug this morning with the police so hopefully this will show that dude is a marked as a thief in the vw community

| That place has been in So.Modesto forever did they really not think something was up when the kid brought the car in ? Sounds fishy to me. I hope that kids picture gets posted everywhere as a thieving dirt bag. Come to Modesto on vacation leave Modesto on probation. |

So, what happened? Is this guy in custody or what? too much blah about cutting body parts and not much legal action. I have a friend who is a Detective, and he says that 99% of people don't follow through with the report after they are made whole( get their stuff back ). I know I would pursue it all the way through!

Yes Adam has done that the cops went with him that morning and did a full report and the owner gave the police all the paper work he had from buying it from the thief
