Yep I bought it down in Ft. Worth but it has MO tags now; my girlfriend, the van, and I live on 5th and Delaware gearing up for our first big road trip of the summer! |

I probably would have bought it from you. Was it a camper? Good luck! _________________ '69 Tintop T2 - '86 Syncro - '87 Westy - '02 337 GTI - '99 4Runner - '13 4Runner |

'81? I thought 80 and 81 had metal vents in the D-pillar.. yours looks like an 82 or 83 to my quasi-trained eyes. |
Only 3/4 right... Earlier 81 models have the metal vents, while the late year models have the plastic. It is an 81. _________________ - '81 Fed Vanagon L |

No, no SA grill. Just spent some time numbing out reading the threads and there was an interesting piece on making your own SA style grill from round grill with a hot knife through the plastic for cutting in the smaller rounds. I liked the way it looked and thought it would have been fun to give it a try...
That's all I was saying... And no, it was not a camper...

THe vanagon in liberty is gone. U can use a mirror from a mk2 Jetta. They clip in the same. The mirror isn't as big though. There's an 87 Jetta at the junkyard on 24hwy with the mirror still in it _________________ '69 Tintop T2 - '86 Syncro - '87 Westy - '02 337 GTI - '99 4Runner - '13 4Runner |

Hey guys. I'm in Topeka with my van Wernher Van Brown. Here is a before pic as I got the van. Upgrades are underway. Tron2525, if you need any assist I wouldn't mind giving a hand. I'd like to see an install like that. I think I have met a couple of others on here looking at vans. I hope you don't feel like I wasted your time. I think my van has a few parts that came from some of you guys. Sorry MartinR but I went looking for your van and they told me it was gone. Hopefully not crushed

|
|
Hi all I got a 1991 west weekender from a great PO in Idaho. Brought it back to kansas so I could slowly kill it with a brutal combination of oppressive heat followed by extreme cold then topped off with an extra large dose of road salt. Hoping to make the change from daily to garage queen in the fall of 14. Finally got the AC and power windows working in October next is RMW exhaust with the eventual Gw 2300. Assuming she don't spontaneously combust (fuel lines have been recently replaced by PO) and look good. My first VW and first vanagon.

That is the only thing I did not like about living in Kansas (all three times and nine total years I lived there). I just retired and moved back to Pennsylvania to be with my collection of VWs. I will miss the Mo-Kan VW Club meetings. _________________ And then there were two...downsized to 83 Doka &
