I saw this on some of the Yahoo groups and wanted to post the info here on Samba for those who do not spend much time on those groups. It is a great informal getogether. I think it begins around 1pm or so and goes till past dark or when it gets bone chilling cold whatever comes first. If sombody knows the exact times please post it.

Sunday January 19
North end of Ocean Beach, San Francisco. Across the Great Highway from the windmill and the restaurant. Somewhere. Kind of depends where there's space. Look for the vans. Westy with popped tops

This event always happens the weekend of Busses By the Bridge, Lake Havasu,az. So I always miss it. Ben T (Un) puts it on, and it looks like it's getting bigger!

I don't get having this on a Sunday, Sat would be so much better especially for those that need to drive some distance. Fighting weekend traffic going home not my cup of tea, and I can't hang out after the event due to work the next day too.

Never use Crash & Van in the same sentence... Shocked

Well... I lost my job on Thursday (^%$@&*^$&*@%$@$) after over a year of messing with me trying to get me to quit... so worrying about work on Monday is a non starter now... guess I have to go! Very Happy

Hope you find a better job soon!

I'm going to make the trek up to BV as i need to pickup a set of aluminium gates for my 16" project that just came in from der fatherland.

I heard a rumor that Lars of Tristar connection fame might show up.

Just curious, Why did they pick the biggest day for football?

I am sending a friend to check this event out. His name is Mark and I told him to be on the look out for BundT Syco and his easy to recognize Synchroe 16" with red stripes on the back and classy street treads, as well as Jon Slider(I warned him about those cookies too Cool ). He may be driving his vintage Valiant Vert, I think he said its a 1964 and hes owned it since HS.

He is shopping for a SyncroWesty and may be purchasing miine when the time comes. This will be a great event for him to check out the vans and all the different modifications.

Whatever you do, do not convert him to Subaru Rolling Eyes

Have a great time you guys. He will be there from 12-2 as he must make it home to watch that footbal game thingy. Take good care of him and don't talk about me Twisted Evil

I'll post pics under the "Van O Rama" Facebook account. Duplicates will be in Van.O.Rama Picasa page. This is the same for previous years. I have about 50 pics now which I took. Waiting for pics by other contributors before posting links. Mike Miller counter 45 vans before losing count. I have at least that many individual van pics so that's confirmed. But I missed a lot of latecomers. For example, there were at least 2 AW's there. I only got one pic. I also did not get pics of several Eurovans in attendance including Ardith's chameleon theme wrapped T4 and a couple of Westy T4's. There was also an Escorial green CH camper (aircooled) and some who left before I arrived - fashionably late as usual. Plus there was a guy called Locke who drove from Alaska. I didn't get his van pic of Detlev's TDI Westy next to him.

So, if anyone got pics from BV, please send them over so I can finish setting them up and post a link here.

Thanks,

😉
