Great car, great start, thanks for sharing!
If those heater channels are the original ones - you should absolutely leave it at just replacing the bottom of them. Alignment and quality will always be better by keeping them OG.
Both Woffe, Hooky's and KF makes the bottom plate for them.
Good luck - keep us posted! |

Thank you... I appreciate you taking the time to look and post.
I have a bunch of rotisseries in the shop, but this is my favorite one to date. The first few I always built them with the goal to be bolted to the car. For safety, then I would weld them in four or more spots to keep them from ever coming loose. As time pasted I got more cars with less healthy metal and rotted contact points were the rotisserie was supposed to bolt to. That's when I decided to build them with the idea that it will become part of the car while the fab work is being done, that progression gave me the freedom to attach fixture supports anywhere I felt they were needed. This build is a perfect example of my new line of thinking. This also helps because I really like to demo all the rust and body damage all at one time. That seems to help me see the big picture and how all the repairs will join together. Once all the demo is complete I know just what parts that need to so sourced, and that seems to help me a lot in the grand scheme of things. _________________ ⚒ Believe In The Power Of Positive Thinking ⚒

Ya, that's a fantastic jig. I like the idea of bolting the heater channels to it to give a positive location to the new ones. I will definitely keep this in mind when I start on my car.
