what is everyone using to get the lockring off the end of the tumbler?
i found the ones i have dissembled have been a real pain, sometimes chipping the bakelight housing. |
Lately, I don't try to pry the circlip off. I just put the switch in a vise, and then use a small punch or drift to knock the cylinder out of the housing. A couple of soft but firm taps will usually pop the cylinder right out and leave the circlip and small washer still sitting in the bakelight recess.
I used to try and use these type hooked instruments, but usually still broke the bakelight housing even with those.
