oil coolers!!! possiably one off's somebody made,I had thought about finning the thicker tubes on mine.....but I have never seen over around 180 oil temps.

I'm guessing those are a home made project by a machinist that had nothing better to do with his time. As for cooling, not enough oil passes through the PR tubes to have any effect on lowering oil temps.

The tube are being blasted by air coming off the cyl & heads just as hot or hotter than the oil in them. Could actually raise or maybe lower the oil temp?? Would take some carful testing to know for sure. Dan

hmm not enough oil flow.....must be on motors like mine that dont fill the valvecover 3/4 full like oh somany beleave Shocked Rolling Eyes sorry dave I couldent rezist. yes they do get a good hot blast of air on portions of them depending on just what tinwork is used.probably better on a aeroplane.

Most likely they're motorcycle finned pushrod tubes, or at least someone carrying that concept forward to a Type 1 engine.

Probably gives a bit of heat transfer.

These look like Harley aftermarket PR tubes.
