Well I'm pretty much bedridden with a terrible cold and migraines and its been pretty darn cold here in Cleveland these past few months, so I'm spending a lot of time on the forum 
I have my '70 Sqaure parked in my brothers' garage and the plan is to get a set of Weber carbs for it and go from FI to carb. I also want to lower the wagon a bit and work on the rust issues this year. I don't think I'm ever going to go all out and paint it, since the car is more of a hobby than a true passion for me, so I'm thinking going the ratrod look and rockin it that way.
I have searched in the Gallery section but there are a tons of random pics, so please post pics of your Type 3, Sqaureback even better, with a ratrod/volkrod/patina look to it.
I would love to have a dedicated thread for that, so if there isn't one already, maybe this one can be

I have better fenders and a line of some doors for it. There's gonna be a lot of rust repairs this year, but truly hope to drive it plenty.

One of mine, 65 square
What we started with, pretty rust free, just tired and worn out after 40 years with the same original owner. The original plan was to clean it up and drive it. Which turned into fix everything, repaint all but the outer skin, new interior, motor, brakes, etc.
After 18months of cleaning things up. It's been my daily driver once they stop salting the roads till the snow falls and they start salting the roads again.

I would had loved for mine to look like your 65, but unfortunately a front-end fire caused damaged to the fenders and doors, that's why it looks like it does

There are lots of touch ups on mine, like most of the front passenger fender.
we just happened to stumble onto a color match that blends in with the stock ruby red.

my before and after of my current square.
My old square was pink primer when I got it. Then I sprayed it yellow with american accents spray paint.. then I sprayed it satin blue to try and match the og blue on the inside.
My first notch i ran mexican blankets on the seats for awhile.. had a clean satin black/marron roof rattle can job

Here's my 71.
L20D Clementine, some touch-ups with Allis-Chalmers (tractor) orange spray paint on the bare spots. A semi-close match...

Heres my sons barn find, only thing we have changed is safety things, hoses, tires, fuel lines. still has same brake shoes/pads, clutch, rubber seals, stereo everything, A lil polish and some tuning she runs great!

Here's a couple of pics of my 71 Square. It's still under construction, and buried in snow out back. I have to wait for some of it to melt, before I can do some work on it.
I guess I should add this one from 2003, right after the roof was cut off.

Those are 14" x 7" rims on it with 225/60/14's all the way around.

Yes the widebody feature is what actually caught my eye when car shopping.
Otherwise I would have just continued being just another bug owner again.
That would have been much simpler in the long run, but I would still just have another bug.
It will keep most of the look that it has now.
I am going to clean up the rims that are on it and run them as long as the rear wheels will cover the rear disc brakes I am going to install.
It will be getting lowered an inch or two.
And then the prostreet transmission will come out of my super and go into the square so that it can back up my 2332 that has to now be built on a type 3 case.
It will be loads of road burning fun.
