Crappily welded to it I might add. A muffler clamp will strengthen it if it hasn't already failed or repair it if it has. |

Yeah I hate the design of the heat pipes. I wish VW would have made flanges like the exhaust or something with a gasket. That design just leaks like a sieve and is very hard to put together on aged vehicles once it's apart. I have had too many of those clamps come off that I have had to weld on, and the pipe is too thin to weld most of the time. I am thinking about putting flanges on the pipes and heater box some day just for ease of use. _________________ air-cooled or nothing for me
