I'm looking for a reputable professional to repair the VDO clock in my 62 Ghia. I have already tried all the home fixes, to no avail. I'm looking for someone in the UK, or Europe , at worst- thanks. Very Happy

Let me know if you get any good references. Have a 6V clock in my 9/58-build lowlight that runs REAL fast (1hr in 5 seconds), even on 6V. Like you, have tried the home remedies per the thread on this site...

Like your avatar, reminds me of my dogs...

(1) My Dad's 1955 356 (he raced it amateur-class at Riverside and other courses during 1950s),
(2) My parent's black 1955 hardtop bug (CA license plate FWC 201 or FWG 201), and
(3) My parent's agave green 1957 ragtop bug (CA license plate LFK 734).

They do good work and prices are fair for what they do. If you want to see the quality of work let me know and I'll dig up a pic of the speedo they did on my 58 bug.

Try these...not a personal recommendation, just a Google search: http://www.jdo1.com/Time-Clocks.html

They're in Yorkshire.

Thanks, John
Unfortunately , ( they're the company I have already tried) they are unable to do the repair , as their clock man is badly injured. They returned my clock this weekend, hence my current search...

Ah right. It might be an idea to Google for a local clock repairer. The early VDO clocks are electro mechanical and virtually any traditional clock repairer won't have much trouble fixing one.
