That cabinet looks great! Just to be clear... it is secured in place by the mounting brackets that normally hold the jump seat, right? If so, I want a storage only version!

Nope. That was the original plan, but the cabinet turned out too close to the seat belt housing. It's bolted to the floor. What's another few holes?

The plans were mostly in Jeff's head and then on a piece of graph paper.
He had the measurements required for the space and a picture in his mind. The rest I made up as I went!

I have made quite a bit of stuff over the years with an emphasis on decorative tea boxes and jewellery boxes. In the end this was just a box. Your have multiple choices for joinery and I chose dado and overlap edges for the most part. Glued and screwed for strength then all that covered with laminate.

So I've added some pictures of my motor mounts. I've done 20 or so diesel conversions and I've been having good success with the KEP plate/ flywheel and clutch. I start with 2wd bars, regardless if it's a syncro or not. I fabricate my own custom mounts to join the block to the mounts. So far, they've been great, no vibrations, or mount failures. They're over built, from an engineering point of view complete over kill.

Those mounting arms are USDA Grade A Beef--nice! It looks like we might be able to use the arms I built for jimeg's 15 degree 1.8L on his AAZ, so that's still looks like an option. I like the idea of running a steel oil pan that you can easily drop if needed.

Nah, the steel pan reference was in regards to the difference between 15 degree and 50 degree installs. The 1.8 engine is just an RV code from a Mk2 Golf/Jetta

Got it... It's definitely more user friendly to have a steel pan. I was looking for another oil drain option for the AHU and AAZ with the VNT turbo, so I might look into it anyway. I think the AEB pan will fit.

The AEB will fit, you will want the oil pump pickup tube also.
