I don't see any 2-1 collectors in your pile of parts. Do yourself a big favor don't look for inspiration from the Kennedy Subaru headers they are pretty piss poor in design with the merging of the drivers side into the main run without proper sizing or transitions. Probably cost 10-15HP loss over a properly built set of pipes. If you want a source for good transitions try 7th Phase exhaust on the internet, great designs and reasonably priced. |

4 into 1, equal length, sequential collecting, 1 3/8 by exactly 35 inch primary tubes all gas welded with bronze at the flanges.
13.4 % increase in low end torque over other aftermarket headers, 9.8% over stock
Holy crap. Just did the first test run and I must say…the results are astounding. I haven't smiled this much since I took the SVX on it's first cruise. ( I have a frankenmotor now)
Low end is WAAAAY up, with the old setup going up gears it was just flat until it built rpms, now it just pulls. sweet Jesus does it pull!
I did a lot of research but still had a lot of second guessing and doubt, but now I know for sure, without a doubt…smaller, longer primaries are DEFINITELY the key to gobs of low rpm torque, and that, my friends, is what we want.
But it hardly flattens out as it goes, this thing pulls like a mule up to 4800 rpm (the highest I went)! And the sound…indescribable. No more raspy, rattly sound, this sounds like…I don't know what, but it's sweet. I may have to post a video when I get it quieted down a bit, but the resonance is beautiful. Not a hint of backfire on downshift, either, even with the free flowing muffler, which is amazing. Not even a blip! Feels great coasting, "Tight", I guess I would describe it as.
Still some tuning to do. I don't like the muffler I used, it's a bit too loud so I bought a different one tonight and will try it tomorrow. Should fix it right up.

why the bronze (silicon bronze ?) filler rod ? I'd expect it to tear over time. |

You measured that on a dyno and tested all three types? Sorry, no facebook. How did you decide upon 35 inches as the optimal length? Did you start out with longer ones do a dyno run shorten by and inch and repeat? How are you measuring the length of the pipes? Enquiring minds. _________________ ☮️ |

IIRC bronze has more strenght than a weld, in this type of application
...ie. thin wall/vibration/heat
..just need to make well fitted joints

Dyno sheets?
You tested this against the available headers on the market or are going by seat of the pants speculation?
Not ragging ya, just need clarification please. |
