Anybody have an idea why my 74 stays in gear after shutting it off. Can't get it in neutral even when its off.....Ideas ????

Can you get it into neutral when it is on?

Nope stays somewhat in gear, can't roll it around. When its running have to pull the e-brake to keep it from driving off

adjust the clutch, should be near 3/4 inch of play at the pedal before resistance is felt.

If the car was not driven for a while sometimes and it has happened to, the disc somehow gets stuck to the flywheel. I used the e starter to break it free, by just turning the key and the starter usually break it from the flywheel as the car tries to leap forward. Make sure no one is in front or behind you when you try this........ Once it happened and the bug was locked in a forward gear but it was up against a wall. My friend had to pull the bug away from the wall with his jeep.

The guy I got it from drove it regularly, drove it 8 to 10 miles to get it to me. It has been sitting I started dropping the top (1.5 months)
