Ok, I did the brief search, looked through the owner's manual...still not very clear.

Where is the jack and tool kit stowed in a walk through, in my case a '67?

I seem to remember it being stuck in the spare tire mounting bracket, but the manual says under the seat. Is it just tossed in there loose to make noise and add to the character of a VW?

Pics would speak volumes to me.

Gordo.

Pretty sure it should go right here-

But it HAS a been a while since I've had a W/T. I know this an early model, but IIRC the storage well is basically the same in a late model.

Yes, my '63 walk-thru:

I never hear anything banging around.
I put all that stuff in there but I did find the original toolkit in there in another walk-thru I owned.

wrapping the jack in a towel works wonders...old towels are always good to have anyway.

Okay then, under the seat it is. I don't know why I thought it would be more contained than that.

Gordo.

True, I have done that many times.

In my bench seat Bus I have it inside a jack bag from a Bay Window. Works.
