Hey, I am Scott and I am just lurking for now but saving up for an oval. I used to have a '67 bug in high school but sold it like an idiot. The only VW I drive now is a 2006 GLI.

My name is Marc and I live in Winston Salem, NC now. Originally from Phoenix, AZ. Used to hang out with the CE gang a bunch. I bought my first bug at 19, a super clean '67, then got a crappy lowered '60, then a '61 ragtop, then a 64 bus and then a 64 bug.. My wife had a really clean 61' ragtop, all OG and then someone stole and stripped it. Got it back 6 hours later, all the parts gone. My wife Kelly and I met because we both had 61 ragtops at the time.

This is my latest project. Have been VW less for about 6 years now, ready to get back into the 'lowback'.

My name is Phil, here is my November 54 Oval. I bought it in April of 2011, drove it for a year and then began the tear down and rebuild process (notice I didn't say restore)

Almost complete:
front seats are still at the upholstery shop
need to complete the front disk brake install
buy the other "Weld Rims"
Install door glass/trim

Welcome everyone, long time lurker and only posted a few times.

I bought my 57 Oval several years ago as a rolling chassis and full of '66 parts, so it's far from original but come a long way!

I just had the interior done and the only thing left is to finish the winshield wiper motor assy.

Motor/drive train:
2275 w/ 48s
Rancho tranny

Interior:
Carbon fiber head liner
Seats, light gray w/ carbon fiber inserts
Floor covered w/ German Square Weave

Hello everybody, my name is Eric and this is my first oval "Mavis" she's a 56 ragtop. She was for sale on here and I scored her for less than $5k. She used to be a Baja sometime in her past and has been clipped which I'm sure destroys the value but I don't care, she's still an oval rag and I'm just enjoying the hell out of her and bringing her back to life. This is the state she was in when I picked her up.

How she sits now

Also redoing her interior since everything was old and nasty or missing

I'm Bill from St. Charles, MO and I own eight old VWs, two are Oval era Beetles. This is my unrestored, mostly original paint June 1955 Deluxe Sunroof which went on the "Return To The Fatherland Tour" from L.A. to Wolfsburg and back in 1999:

entering the Wolfsburg factory gates on the Tour...

a younger me and "Martha" in front of the Main factory building at Wolfsburg, Germany in 1999...

Driving alongside the ultra-high security perimeter fencing at VW's proving/testing grounds at Ehra Lussien during a Tour visit there...

And then there is my 1957 (Dec of 1956 build date) Deluxe Beetle Kabriolett project (soon to be started!) bought and stored away back in 1993...
