Hey kids, it's the
10 Year Anniversary of the All Air-Cooled Gathering!

It's gonna be an epic celebration. We got a few special surprises planned for the year, this is one event you don't want to miss. Check out our site http://www.allaircooledgathering.com for the basics and keep an eye on this thread for the latest developments.

==================

CAMPING

Last year we had over 170 camping and at party in the clubhouse on Saturday night, and over 325 cars on the show field [all air-cooled! No water!!!] on Sunday.

==================

Showcase

This year we will be showcasing late Type 2's! For every Type2 that shows, each will receive a unique memento of the event. We are expecting a huge turnout so this will be one not to miss!

==================

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

"The Voice of VW Drag racing" Dyno Don Chamberlin will be back again with us.

Pin striping legend, Charlie "The One Armed Bandit" Decker, will be painting again on site. If you are interested in having your car, tool box, skateboard or girlfriend striped, email for a reservation [[email protected]]. His time is limited so sign up early.

More Valve Cover Racing, bring your own or race one of ours. The competition last year was brutal so bring yer "A" game. There will be some rule changes so stay tuned.

Dub Push Kompetition This is another call for all local clubs to participate in the coveted Dub Push Kompetition. Do you have the stones to push your club to victory? This will be the sixth year and the team to beat is the South Philly Van Club [and northern friends!]. The kompetition is fierce, but the prize is the "Dub Push Cup!" You club name will be engraved for posterity and you will take possession of the cup for a year to return in 2015 to defend your title. We understand if your club is not up for the challenge, not every club is worthy Wink

A boatload of events for the kids, coloring contests, VW Twister, Herbie Bean Bag Toss and of course the bouncy castle will be back again!

==================

So come help us celebrate of dub love, all aor-cooled all the time!

Click here to download a flyer or call Jeffrey at 908-377-5577 if you have any questions.

See you there, Jeff.
This promises to be the best AACG yet, and as the grand finale to a season of shows, campouts, and great times I'm sad to already be looking forward to the end of the 2014 show season.

But I am, looking forward to it.

See you there!

My racer is ready, a few tweaks should help speed it up a bit.

You need to paint up that valve cover with some GTV graphics!

Oh yea !!
Bout time the Baywindow was the featured marque of this amazing event. Laughing
I can't wait. My calender is marked. Cool

One suggestion if I may...
As much as I would love to blow Mike's valve cover off the track with the defending champion Mango Green Jersey Looker in head to head competition...
Is there any possibility the valve cover racing can be split into two classes ?
One children's class and one adult's class ?

You won't beat that baby... It's a fine-tuned speed-machine. Give it gravity and you won't be able to restrain it.
That's a type IV cover, so it comes from a powerful engine, and speed is in it's heritage, it courses through it's imaginary oil filled veins.

GTV graphics, I like it...
Or would a chrome plate, or maybe... GOLD blind the opponents?

It looks kinda Jersey LQQker to me, with the cut wheel wells and mag wheels.

Oh Stan, you are right on about the tubbed wells and the mag wheels. But unlike a Jersey LQQker this valve cover racer is less show, and all go...

That's why Mike wants an Unlimited class. So sponsors with deep pockets can throw stupid money for a trophy.

I hear Mike has asked "The Donald" to fund his R&D and in exchange he'll get a vinyl wrap for his VC with the likeness "The Donald's" junk.

I have a little hunch I'll be racing this year.

Unlimited pockets Glenn?
This thing cost me only wheels and bearings.

I designed the chassis, and made a template on the rotary engraver at work.
Cut it from 20g then a friend tacked the chassis to the cover for me.

I have a better idea for wheels this year though... Too much rolling resistance on wide flat wheels...

After careful consideration, CJVWS will be revising this year's rules to allow for bearings. We felt it would help encourage more people to build a racer and participate.

As an incentive, there will be something "extra" for everyone who brings a bay. I like the idea about a record turnout for bays. Does anyone have a goal number to beat? Whoever is coming, and bringing a bay, post a pic, lets see if we can start getting a count right here!

I'll start... My gal will be there with her '79

I am going to try to bring 3 of my Bay's ! I don't know if there is a record number any where , but we can sure as hell try ! I guess we get the BIG spot on the field.
