Howdy crowd, I am new here. I just bought a buggy from a kid here in Virginia. Needs lots of love. I am going to build it. This site is a HUGE help. I have been tinkering with mazda rotaries for a while and am pretty VW dumb. I have a bought a few books and reading here quite a lot also.
I have a million questions but I will not annoy anyone with them all until I do some more reading.
Anyway, just wanted to say Hi.
Thanks
-David
Pix of the buggy i picked up can be found here.

Congrats!!!
You are one of the smartest new commers, even though there is 40,000 of us on here. That search button on these forums will become your best friend. Good luck with the car. I am sure I speak for most of us when I say, it would be great to see some snapshots. I can help you load them on the forums if you like. But step number one, if you don't have any pictures of it on the web already, you can post it in the samba gallery, its quite simple.
Have fun!

Actually I live in Southern Maryland, about 30 minutes south of Washington DC. The buggy was bought in Stafford Virginia. _________________ 1993 RX7 pT-67 .81 a/r

Pictures. I didn't mentiion but I bought the buggy as is for $300. The engine is seized up. I don't know how to identify the block yet. I have determined the rear torsion is swing arm type. The front suspension is ball and joint. From what I have been reading I think I would rather have IRS, and the king pin front. I want the buggy for street use and trips to the outer banks. It will be on the street more than sand though. However I don't know that I want to lower it so much that it bottoms out at the beach. Sounds like maybe some adjustable coil overs might be what I want. The pan is rotten through and I am replacing it all together. I was looking at picking up a berrien buggy frame and pan. Any comments on them? http://www.berrienbuggy.com/id63.htm
Thanks again for the repsonses..
Cheers,
Dave

Nice looking Gel-Coat! That's a score for sure, since it was never completely finished. Body looks near NOS!
Looks like an El-Lobo or Enos-500 buggy, but has a bit of a pointed nose? Are there any ID tags on it?
You should check out www.manxclub.com and/or post in the 'offroad' forums here. You don't need to have a REAL Manx to post in the ManxClub forums or to become a ManxClub member.
What a nice buggy. I look forward to see what you do with it. I really like the El-Lobo type buggies, they look sleek! _________________ OG JHC

I'd agree, if it weren't for that pointy nose.

I have seen similar Lobo/Enos clones with a pointy nose like yours. I'd like to know the manufacturer. Yours is the most original I've seen, which is why I'd hoped you had found a body tag. _________________ OG JHC

Yea your right. It does look like the tub I have does have a lil point there in the nose. I'll say it's possibly a Enos or maybe an Enos clone then. Personaly I think the Manx looks better. I might swap the tub out at some point. I'm hoping to get started with the new pan and frame soon. _________________ 1993 RX7 pT-67 .81 a/r
