I think 73-79 buses will be around 8-9" thick, while 68-72 buses will be around 5-6" thick. Will you measure yours and help prove or disprove my theory?

Here's how I'm measuring mine. Bottom of tube to top of seat. To the bead would be cool too.

Here's busdaddy's results:
"The back seat bottom in my 71 measures 7.5" from the bottom edge to the top of the cushion, and 6.5" to the bead between the sides and the top.
A 76 measures 8" to the top and 6.5" to the beading. "

The reason I'm interested can be read here: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=591436

I'm guessing it's probably impossible to use the words "big" or "thick" and "seat" in the same sentence w/o someone getting offended!

Went to a show today & checked out 3 different bays w similar seats. Two were 5-6" thick, one was more like 8-9" thick. None of the people were ever at their buses, and 2 left before i could find out what yr they were. But, there are 2 different rear seat thickness for bay window buses. I'm still guessing it changes 71/72ish.
