Hi,

I'm in need of confirmation about which production #, the engines that came with busses produced in June 1965 had.

If I understand the VIN/Chassis table in the technical section, a bus produced in June 1965 was actually a 1966 Model, therefore the engine number would span from H0 166 393 to H0 183 233.

Is this assumption correct ?

Thanks for your help,

Phil

no, a June 65 bus was a 65 model. The 66 model year started Aug. 1965

if your VIN is 2x5 xxx xxx xxx , it is a 1965 model year bus

just look it up in the chart by the VIN, which for a JUN 65 bus would be between
(end of) May 215 161 145
and
(end of) Jun 215 175 741

H case motors started for the 66 model year

Thanks for your help Clara.

Ok, the VIN is 235 162 376

so according to the chart engine number would be in the 9 724 765 to 1 026 827 span.

What is surprising is that between production months january to june 1965, the engine numbers did not increment continuously, they start every month at about 1 XXX XXX and climb to 9 XXX XXX. Question What was the logic behind this scheme ?

For the Production Chart, each chassis number is the last vehicle produced in that month.
The engine numbers listed are the last engine # produced in that month.
For the 1963, 64, 65 buses when there were both 1200 and 1500 cc motors available, the 9 numbers are the last 40 horse 1200cc and the 1 numbers are the last 1500cc.
