A friend of mine told me he found a pair of 48's and a pair of 52 DRLA's, both NOS. I've never heard of 52's, were they really built in 52mm? If so would were they tri-jets like some 48's? He's wanting the 48's, thought that I could use the 52s on my 2276.

awesome! The 52s were made, they are not easy to find. I'll take them if you don't get them!

Um.... No, sorry you'll not see any actual 52mm DRLA's.

The only place they exist is in a hand-drawn image on the front of the Dellorto tuning manual, and in Kieth Sume's mind.

In order to have a set of 52's, Dellorto would have had to make new die cast tooling, as the 48's have little room for more butterfly.

In order to justify this expense, there would have been thousands of carbs produced. They would not be rare.

I have been dealing with Dellortos for about 30 years.... I have restored at least 500 carbs. I too wish they existed, but they do not.
