I hope they stay around $1000. Then maybe more people will turn to the type 4 platform. Then maybe they'll start making more aftermarket parts for the type 4. |
Is there an aftermarket replacement case for type 4? Ive seen the AMC replacement heads but cases and bearings always seem to be the problem these days. |
No there are no typ4 cases . some new ones are avaliable in germany or industry engine cases that are like new

Type 4 cases being a problem these days? I have NEVER seen a Type 4 case that needed machine work, unlike pretty much every used type 1 engine. They are about as bullet proof as you can get. So far there has not been enough demand for Type 4 cases to warrant new reproductions due to the fact that most used cases are still in good shape and can be reused again and again. _________________ 1800 Type 4 Berrien 295

I have 30+ type IV cases here that all need machine work. They shuffle @ the centre main saddle. Best one I have found out of that lot was down 0.02mm... still not good enough for a build, hence face the halves and line bore... |

I'm right there with you. I think in 25 years, I've seen 1 or 2 that couldn't be used. I have a whole pallet of good used bus and porsche cases. Who needs one? _________________ Please "LIKE" us on facebook to see what we are working on.
