How was the swap/traders area?? Parts galore?? |
Trading was very light. I have heard of a couple of traders where, due to the very high cost of trade plots, it was not financially feasible for them to sell at the show. Higher trade plot costs also lead to higher part prices.
Isn't OCTO $5 all in for a bus, all occupants, and a trade space?
A second feedback item is that the Barndoors were too tightly parked (compare it to the OCTO 2012 Barndoor Gathering). They were a cargo door width apart. Whilst this might have made for nice neat full participant shots, it meant most owners did not stay by their bus. They headed elsewhere for comfort. And there was plenty of room for the Barndoors to be a 'bus-width and a half' apart. So a key feature of these types of shows - interaction between show-goers and bus owners - was, in the main, lost. It only struck me on the way home how few owners I had got to talk to about their bus. 'Lucky them!'. Beat you to it
Not meant as a moan - I really enjoyed the event - just honest feedback to be put in the organising pot for 2018. _________________ -StockRocks- |

Bummer about the high cost to trade/sell. Yes, OCTO is only $5/€3.5 to get in and if you choose to trade/sell, still the same price and you get a 15ft x 12ft spot. The June meet is held at the Long Beach Veterans Stadium, fairly large venue so there is plenty of parking space for both participants and spectators.
My Dad, Chuck, and Comrad both had an awesome time. They came back with accents and an appreciation for European beer.
Thanks Air Vin ……….. it’s about time!!! OKAY |
