|
|
While perusing the 2nd annual Air Cooled Clubs car show at Mesa College near San Diego, Sunday, May 18, I saw a beautiful foyer tent. It was on a Campers of America bus that looked all original, light interior, clean. It was sporting the most exquisite foyer apparatus I've ever seen.
The tent framing and door spread was all aircraft aluminum and formed to a lofted arch using square stock looking to be around 1/2" square. The attachment points were all aircraft quality interlacing with keepers and clips.
There was a beautifully sewn white canvas cover that had the same buckles and hold-downs single and double cab canvases use. It had two long foot wide tassel tails coming down from the top that covered off the hinge area from wind and view. Around the base was a beautiful gator that sealed off the under belly so the whole foyer was enclosed.
I could shoot myself for not having a camera or phone pic of it. Has anyone seen it or know what I'm talking about? |

Yes, someone came up with that design at least a couple of years ago. Saw it first at juan of the OCTOs. Took a few pix too, figuring "I can do that!" Will have to dig them out and post them here. It is the koolness! _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

Do you mean Efrain from the Chula Vista area? He fabricates cargo door canopies and inside headlamp bucket steps, and things. He drives a original faded paint EZ Camper. |

If those ^^^ are Efrain's then it wasn't his that I saw. The one I saw was wayyyyyyy nicer and sooooooo righteous.
Calling Pyro: stop working on the Dormy and find the pictures. |

No, those are some that Izzy used to produce. Is that the style though that you are describing or something else? _________________ RPM=(MPH*336* (R&P*4th*1.26))/Tire Diameter in inches |

Something else entirely different: tops are arched, has bottom below door all around, has outside coattails by hinges, is perfect aluminum square tubings, has all white canvas with buckles like a Single or Double cab tilt.
Izzy's or OG ones are nice but this thing is so much better than any accessory for the doors I've ever seen.
It's like an entryway into the Ritz only more Conestogaesque. |

Thanks for the pictures, Pyro.
That may be the beginnings of it but it morphed into 100x that. Me blabbing 1000 words would not even equal one picture. Maybe it will show up at OCTO.
I swear it was on a Campers of America bus too but maybe that was parked next to the EZ? |

Took the pix figuring my usual "I can make that!" But alas, Juan too many projects barely started, half done, semi-finished, ect., keep me from taking on more even! _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |
