JJ-XXIV raffle bus update:
Roof is in final primer.
New KF '67 style battery tray modified to be a '66 only tray and installed.
Fender carnage cut out, wheel tub straitened and new KF fender installed.
Couple more spot welds to fill around the corner seam and final bumping before the skim coat and primer.

Our goal is to drive it to OCTO/Blackstar/ElPrado weekend June 6th.

In the Phoenix, AZ area and want to help work on the bus?
Just check our website for the next work party. www.azbusclub.org

BTW...we are in need of one radio knob...we gladly accept donations and sending us this one tiny part may just be the good karma you need to be the lucky winner this September.

Wow! That was quick.
Looks like The Samba's very own Everett B gets the radio knob karma.
Thanks Ev!

Getting excited about Jerome 2014, is ABC going to cruz up from the Home Depot again this year? If so we plan to be there with our 67 Westy with a few friends. It will add around 150 miles to our trip, but well worth every mile.
Thanks ABC!!

Yes, I believe the Friday morning carabus starting at the HD in Phoenix will happen again this year.

The Arizona Bus Club Raffle Bus Crew has spent many hours and emptied many beers working on the bus lately. The main carcass paint is done and assembly has commenced...most everyone that has helped work on the bus has signed the roof. Doors and such are being painted in the next few days meanwhile...as of last night the bus is on all fours, tank is holding fuel, the trans hits all the gears, the engine is purring beautifully, the brakes are adjusted and bled, e-brakes are working, windshields are in, drivers side jealousies are in, headlights-taillights-fried eggs are in, rear of bus is wired, gauges are in, meaty tires are being installed on the powder coated rims today and with a little more wiring under the dash and installation of the freshly restored Koch steering wheel...this beast will be drivable by the weekend.

Everyone loves pictures so here you go....

The ABC crew pulled it off and we debuted the raffle bus at the Blackstar / OCTO / El Prado shows in Southern California this weekend. Now we get the next 100 days or so to work on our own buses before we give away this beautiful bus to some lucky winner in September.

No, it is the original tag. All the panels were duplicated and we cleaned up and reused the original hardware. Lots of "during" photos coming soon.

We have a brand new generator and regulator that should be on in the next day or two that should solve the electrical gremlins.

Jerome Jamboree 2014 Raffle Bus build follow up...
This build thread fell off the radar as the event thread blossomed.
Anyway...congratulations to Doug & Cyndi of Springerville, AZ for winning the 2014 raffle bus.
