Not sure what they are actually called, but my 1990 Vanagon has plastic panels running along each side on the lower 1' or so of the sides. They extend down below the body by an inch or so.

New tires get installed on Friday at Town Fair. Typically, they drive a car onto a lift that runs the length of a car to raise it off the floor. If they do this with the van, then it will be sitting on these plastic panels; I expect they will break.

Any suggestions on how I can tell them to avoid this? Possibly blocks under the front and back jack points on either side of the car?

Floor jack on the front end--change the tires.
Floor jack on the back end --change the tires.

Just make mention of the ground effects and let them do the work.
If it's obvious--they should see it.
