I may or may not be able to get there. We just moved into a house and have been unpacking... so much to do... We may stop in for a quick beer!

burnout contest next time!

Getting ready for the Oregon steam up: http://www.antiquepowerland.com/html/steam-up.html

I'll be there Saturday the 26th. Good swap meet, interesting mechanical contraptions, parade, slow tractor race, and tractor pull.

First of all...
We all know I will crush the AC 68 horse class burn....

My next question is..."Best rattle can paint job contest"??? Cause we all know who owns that one.

On another note...
Anyone have a really good inverter for sale. Really good,,, means,,, still working perfectly. Mine has soiled the sheets! And I have to watch "Orange is the next Black" when I am out in the bush... not that i'm not in the.... Just saying...

Two options up there for fishing. Lake Vernonia and the Nehalem River. I might do some fishing or Crawfishing. Cool PM sent. Call me for greater details Smile

VW ~ you should just go ahead and get yourself a T-shirt that says "First Place - 2011 AC Burn Out"

Wash it several times, get it to look 3 years old, and NO ONE would question your prowess. Wink

Should we get serious about this WABDR thing and start compiling names and availability? Wink
Cool! I'll start. I mentioned to David Moise and he might be in, depending on the schedule. So:

Dave Donaldson, Vancouver; avail: end of July or start of August
David Moise, Seattle; avail: ? TBD by final schedule

Nice! So far we have:
Dave Donaldson, Vancouver; avail: July
David Moise, Seattle; avail: ? TBD by final schedule
Christopher Schimke; WA: avail July
Dustin...; McWhosville: avail July
Jack...; Vancouver, WA: avail July

Anyone done any part of this route before? We should appoint the driver with the most experience as Expedition Adventure Overland Team Leader and give that person a bullhorn, orange vest and a pistol.

Here's how to get maps, Discovery Pass etc:

I think we should cap it there. Five is a good number, plenty to share the load but not too many to start slowing ourselves down. I don't think many people have done the route, our local keith is the only one I know that had done any of the route. Maybe you should be our intrepid leader Dave? We should all make sure to have communication (cb's or handhelds) and extra parts. I could be convinced to invest in a real map.

I have a map floating around somewhere. I think 2 sections would be more reasonable. I might be able to go the end of July.

Section #2 is 122 miles and is supposed to be the most difficult section, especially the Umtanum Creek area.

Section #3 is 62 miles - Unknown conditions.

Section #4 is 104 miles - Unknown conditions.

Section #5 is 103 miles - Unknown conditions.

Section #6 is 66 miles - Unknown conditions.

It would be great if you an make it David!
So given my lack of offroad experience and general ignorance, I think one of the guys with a map should be in charge, so either Christopher or David Hines. It might be good to download those GPS tracks too. I tried once but couldn't figure out how to get them on my Garmin.
Let's make a goal for how much distance we want to cover (my days are open so I can go further after the weekend if need be) and shoot for an optimum meeting time and place.
My only concern at this time is I'm waiting for my cat converter to be returned under warranty so I can pass emissions and reinsure the van by July 24. Evil or Very Mad

Excited! Dancing
