There's suddenly gas leaking out of this unplugged/unhosed left port on my h30/31 pict carb. The car was running great and then all of a sudden started hesitating and shut off when I came to a stop. I'm at a family members house and am wondering if there is a quick fix (plugging that hole?) to
Get me home until I have time to dig into the issue tomorrow.

Plug it, then when you get a chance remove the whole thing.

It's part of the altitude corrector, which is part of the throttle positioner. Here's what it looks like when it's properly installed:

It's all part of emissions control, and it's fine to run without any of it.

I've never even seen one of these things on a carb before. What is it? This car is new to me. 009 distributor.

I can get a spare length of fuel hose at a parts store nearby. Would it be better to just connect that as shown in your photo? Or should I just plug it and go. Is there supposed to be gas running through that hole?

no, its a vacuum hose. Which means the port on the carb might be leaking
