Really! the first one was bad enough. |
I posted my pictures of the 3 1/2 hours I was at the event ONCE, but, I must say that I LOL'd when Rich quoted them again as I know how much you love that

Plus, I only got to see carterzest for about 15 seconds as he cruised past in his Syncro.... |
I think that was just about as long as he was there... |
Sorry Schlappette, but, its probably for the better that you may have missed the kerfuffle on the PDX thread. It seems that after 6 years, 166 pages and over 270K views on the Westravaganza thread, I became the target of pranks every time I went anywhere with the PDX crew, and, of the parties involved, one ^^^ refused to acknowledge or apologize, and the other stated he would continue to do the pranking he had been involved in again, and to any of his friends as it is "harmless". I was left with no choice as to call them out on the PDX thread, which subsequently got locked, then, the moderators were approached by a group of 7 folks wishing to have the thread either cleaned up and unlocked(the preferred method by EB) or to have a new thread started(which she later admitted was an error), A mod gave the go ahead to have a new thread started which duplicated the entire sentiment of the PDX thread and it was allowed to stay. The reason I started a PDX thread was to get people together, have fun camping friends and family: Music, Family, Friends and VW's. Now, there are two PDX threads and I do not feel very welcome even in the one I started 6 years ago.
So, again, sorry, but I did not really feel like hanging out too long with the folks whom I formerly called my friends.
I did have a lot of fun at NWMF this year though and an even better time at the coast with Kubelman the next day. What a great VW collection he has.

That judge must be a unimog owner. I heard there was a picture of that sammy pulling out a syncro or two. Anyone seen it? |
When I took that picture I protested to the judge. I wanted a perfect 10. Full arm extension, toes pointed down on the break pedal, white knuckles, you really stuck the landing...... But he pointed out the passenger door is open and you did wet your pants!
must have been Pete "the pit boss" you were giving the ole' tug to huh?
Unfortunately no Picts or it didn't happen right?
I had a really great time with everyone again this year, Best year ever! I was really happy to see that CVBill got on the road on his own steam. I'll never show up later than Thursday night or leave earlier than Sunday night. Big thanks to The Molloy's. This years theme seemed to be four wheels off the ground.
Big Thanks to everyone I saw and interacted with you guys rock.....

Here's some digishots from me and Sandra. More to come when the film is developed - sorry no video from me this year!
Camp is disturbed by an interloper:
Dale takes a shortcut to the porta-potties:
Demon Driver: The Devil makes me break CVs!:
David and Mike strike a pose:
The Duke boys commandeer a Mog:
Self recovery with a Sammy:
Always beautiful scenery:
The ultimate bike lock:
Don't go in the water:
Canadian caravan back from the river:
It was great to see everyone again and meet some new faces for the first time! We had a grueling 12 hour drive home but it was made much nicer by taking the 101 to Olympia. The traffic on the I5 and the crazy (two hour ) border lineups are starting to take the joy out of these road trips but I think I'll just stop thinking I can drive to Oregon in one day and book another night on each side to make it more relaxing.
Good times. Can't wait until the next get-together! _________________ 89 Syncro GL Westfalia 2.1 WBX/WBXaustSS

Mine doesn't have it.
If you can't clean it off, they had boxes of those on a table at MF. I'm sure Dr. Molloy would send you another if you contact him. |

[quote="photogdave"]My MogFest sticker seems to have some weird pink splotch on it. I don't think it's part of the graphic. Anyone else have this?
Did it get a little close to some red wine?
My sticker didn't have it, but my kids did after they picked blackberries on the farm.

No red wine this year - just beer! We picked some blackberries too though... _________________ 89 Syncro GL Westfalia 2.1 WBX/WBXaustSS

We had a great time again this year! Here are a few of my photos. I didn't take that many this year even though I had my camera with me.....
Quick bale climb before they went away.

Sorry I missed you Dave.
I had a nasty sinus infection headache so just showed for part of Saturday. Visited all the camping pods trying to greet whomever was around plus hung at the pits for a bit. |
