When I recently renewed my Classic Car insurance the cover included a free Vehicle DNA marking kit. It’s clever stuff, each kit comprises of a vial of a solution with uniquely coded microdots that you paint on areas of the bodywork, mechanical components and any removable accessories on your car.

The unique code is logged against details of your ownership and in the event of the vehicle being stolen police can trace a suspect car or components by detecting the marking using an infra-red lamp and then reading the code.

I was looking on the internet on how much it costs...around $40 US was one I found which I think is pretty cheap to add extra security for our valuable Ghias.
