Well that tube used to be straight and it had a plastic washer between the tubes and a bolt or rivet through the pivot point.

If you click on the forum code box at the top left of the pic when it's showing in your gallery you can copy that code and paste it here to show the pic. Just what are you doing there?

Reading what BusDaddy said, I'm thinking you might not want to close the top with that sleeve on there, might bend the bars.

Although they do fit the used part of "good used" they don't measure up in the good department so much, someones been trying to mash a sleeping bag or something up in the front of the pop top when they were closing it much like Samm1's, not quite so far gone but still less than perfect.
Are you welding in that sleeve to replace the damaged section of tube Samm?

Yes I cut a piece of deck rail tubing and sliped it over the broken tube then welded it in place. Did both sides and now the canvass is nice and tight now. Top opens and closes excellent. The only piece of hardware missing now is the little piece of steel mounted to the top of the bus above the rear view mirror, the pivot point . Two holes are there but it's missing. Not sure where to find one or even if you can still get them other than at a wreckers.
