I hope this isn't a dumb question, but I am not sure what the letters after a carburetor size mean. Duel 34-ICT ? I have seen IDA, EPC, IDF and more. Whats it all mean? Thanks. |

The Weber designations IDA and IDF are the designaters of the technology....
XX - "Numbers" are throttle plate (butterfly) diameters in mm.
Alpha characters seem to be defined as (combination of letters - in Italian)
DC or D - Double throat (doppio corpo)
O - Horizontal (orizzontal)
E - Die-cast
F - Ford (or Ferrari or maybe Fiat)
V - Vertical
V - Carburetor with power valve (?)
I - Inverted (invertito - meaning updraft - but seems to indicate downdraft)
There is also designation for number of shafts and simultaneous shaft activation or progressive but again they are not consistent...
This is per the Pat Braden Book, but he also notes it is not consistent.... He states Weber seems to tag each carb type some what arbitrarily as to possible application (car type)....
NOTE: This in only the tip of the iceberg in cab nomenclature.
