Anyone want to caravan from PDX to Newberg on Sunday? Meet up in convenient location and take the Wilsonville Rd route.

Hey Portland peoples,

Looks like another gathering might be in the works.

Brad and Sheena, along with their stalwart van Nacho, are planning a PDX visit. A few hours ago, Brad proposed on his Facebook page to have a general Portland meet up on Tuesday, August 26 at Hopworks on Powell at 6:30.

For those who have not heard of this trio, they have recently completed an astounding feat - driving their 2WD Westy van literally around the world over about three years. I have been following their blog, and it's been quite the trip.

Personally, I am very interested to meet folks that have the vision and chutzpah to pull off a trip like this. Come on down, have a beer, and meet some real VW celebrities.

Man thanks for posting this up! I follow those guys on Facebook, but don't check in that frequently. This sounds sweet. Hope to make it.

Sounds like a great list of people for this Sunday, looking forward to showing everyone around!
Cheers

Add two more for Sunday. We know the Willsonville Rd and the S4VAGEs. We have had Mon Cheri for a year but have yet to meet up at a local event.

I'm up for a caravan. Where should we meet?

Thanks for the heads up about Brad & Sheena. I'll be there, too!

Shoot, just saw your reply Schlappette! We're taking a different route; shopping before we head over to Newberg, but will see you there!

Dustin thank you so much for your unbelievable generosity giving us all a tour of Argyle, many fantastic sparklers and still wines to enjoy, yummy tacos and most of all your kindness! I look forward to getting to know you... Here's a link to some of the pictures I shot today! Thanks to everyone who came out and I look forward to hanging out with all of you, hopefully around a campfire and most certainly with a pint or three.

It was an excellent time! I'll add my thanks to all the others - Thank you, Dustin, for giving us a personal tour of the Argyle facilities. It was definitely at a depth and level of detail that, I think, most visitors to the winery do not receive. Let's do it again next summer!

Also great to meet (and re-meet) Portland area Vanagon peeps. I still feel new here, and I'm glad to be a part of such an enthusiastic community. I look forward to seeing you all again.

cheers,
Becka

Hey y'all

I also wanted to say thanks! I had a great time. I'm not sure what the total van number was, but we had a great showing of people. We even had Paul and Allison show up in there van off the street. It's really fun showing people what I do all day and sharing so wine I helped put in the bottle. Great to meet new people and of course see the familiar faces too. I unfortunatly took no pictures but thanks for postin up yours, cool to see the pictures. I really like francois's van reflections! Hope to see everyone tomorrow at hopworks on Powell! I'm really excited to meet Nacho the van that traveled around the world with two people on his back!
Cheers!
Dustin

Thanks very much for hosting Dustin. Argyle is very lucky to have such a passionate and devoted person in their wine family.

Very nice meeting everyone. Unfortunately, I'm old and awful with names... forgive me when we meet again, but I think I can picture everyone's face with their vans...

Thanks for making Jessica's first VW experience so pleasant Very Happy

Uncle Bill has cleared tons more lumber and called to invite us all back up. He said that there a some more trails up top and all around his property. His river is loaded with Crayfish too. I think I will be going to Uncle Bill's this weekend. Anyone else in for Bill's? Cool

Another great time with the Portland Samba group to meet up with "Drive Nacho Drive" 's Brad and Sheena. If you aren't already reading their blog, I highly recommend it. It was great seeing everybody that was at the Argyle winery tour as well. Cheers!

X2 on that Rich, We had fun too. Nice to talk to Brad and Shenna for a few minutes. Too many questions to bombard them..... But Jahbah's got a new buddy Nacho!
Also cool to talk to other overland travelers, mainly Tom with the Syncro who drove down to Argentina with his lady friend. Nice to catch up with rest of y'all too.
Big up for my buddy Taco who dropped in with 30 loafs of Dave's killer bread. To hand out, Yum yum.
Cheers
Dustin
