I HAD these on my car, they lit the road up real nice but my friend managed to break one at bugOrama, I have another set that I'm gonna put on soon.

I put these Hella fog lights on my Mexican Beetle last winter. I used the supplied brackets mounted to the same hole(s) and the bumper bracket. I like the front view look of the lights, but because of the spoiler (which I also like), they stick out almost 2 inches.
I didn't like they way they were mounted and therefore decided against them. Now they sit in a box.

I did have Bosch fog lights on mine under the bumper at one point but driving lights on top are far more useful.

Never seen such a set of beautiful late bug pics! Thanks for photos alone!
If I had more alternator, I would strongly consider a set of Hella driving lights above the bumper, much like Joel's. It looks vintage proper. Hopkin has a neat idea though and his a hard to "run into" which knock the above bumpers out of adjustment. |

Baxie:
I like what you are doing there. I had the same effect in mind when I first saw the Micro DE's.
My car came with a Kamai (sp?) spoiler and I didn't want to cut it for the lights so I ended up not installing them.
Please post more pics as I'd like to see your progress. |

^ The one and only time I'll think the slotted front apron looks good. That's awesome.

Fun !
We need the slotted front apron for the A/C condenser, but it would be fairly simple to use some LEDs to flood behind the grille with some light.

We have the thread from h*ll going. Here is the post on the fog lights:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=7034715#7034715
Edit: We installed the bumper to make sure there was not any problem with the fog light's position. Even if there was a problem, there is not much we would be willing to change at this point. In any case, the setup looks pretty good. It is intentional that the bumper "trims" the fog light slightly on the top. The cutoff is still due to the optics in the fog light, but the bumper does help trim some of the "overspray" light:

Ouch! I'm not sure anything makes that beautiful green bug look like shit, but I'm not digging the rectangular lights at all. _________________ Now: 2003 New Beetle Turbo S / 1990 Single Cab Transporter / 2014 Tiguan R-Line 4motion / 2013 Tiguan S / 2002 Golf GLS TDI

The car is FANTASTIC, but the additional lamps look NOT GOOD. Too rectangular and too big. The rectangles are fighting all the curvy lines on the bug. Round ones above the bumper are better. Sorry Tom, not insulting you, but just being honest on the added lamps. _________________ 1973 1303 with AB-motor - sporadic

I have to agree, the lights bring the car down, as well as the Volkswagen emblem draped across the front hood.
Honestly it looks like you found a box of random parts and are trying to fit them all in somehow. _________________ I'm the humblest guy on this board.
