Hi all,

As the restoration of my 1963 vert is just about ready for door/window assembly I have a question:

Can I mount the scraper rubbers and related chrome trim LAST, i.e. when I am done with everything else in the door/window department, or do the scrapers have to be mounted earlier in the process? If so - when in that process? Thanks for you help! Sincerely / Jonas

I went to "search" and typed in " window scrapers assembly " and got 15 threads for information on this subject which I don't know anything about...
search is a great tool to help you with your build

As have I. I am aware of the concept of searching Very Happy But despite this I can't find an educated answer on when in the assembly process I should - or could - mount the scrapers on a 58-64 vert. Hence my post. "Window scrapers assembly" as a search is too wide, BTW. window scrapers assembly differs from different VW cars and also between years. But I'm sure you already knew that. Still, if you have found the answer to my question in your search - please share Laughing

Here's the order when I did replaced all the rubber on my 61 doors, its a NON Convertible, again its not a convertible.

1-Vent Wing seals
2-Felt guide (clips on top and bolts on bottom of the door)
3-Outside scrapper
4-Inside scrapper
5-Divider post with wing rubber installed
6-Lastly felts

hope it helps.

Thanks payin_vw, much appreciated!

Yeah, I think that's about the order I did it on my ragtop too. I have a feeling it's different on the vert though, since the scrapers and the trim that holds them down are mounted on top of the door... The scrapers for front and quarter windows sit with over 100 small clips, so I want to get the order right before assembly, so I'm not risking pulling it all out again. Thanks very much for your answer!
