Looking for other CO bay window owners.. Might be nice to have a network of like minded folks around the state to meet up with, swap parts, offer assistance while on the road.
Me. I am in Buena Vista... Look me up if you are ever in the valley! _________________ 83 Vanagon

I'm in Durango, Co and always ready for a meet up, drive or camp out. There are 2 other guys I Vdub with down here, both have awesome splities. PM me if you'd like.
There are a couple of other guys with bays in my area, I know them but not well. They also love to go camping .

There are a number of Bus owners in Fort Collins. Kind of a long drive from Durango, but BV is easily within reach for a weekend. We ought to get something going for next spring when I've got the Bleeding Trout renovated.
Garage and tools here always available to Buses passing through (unless my Bus is already in there being fixed!). _________________ 1989 Westy

Maybe we could put together a camping trip when Manfred gets back from Germany in the spring. He lives in Co too. I met him on a 100 mile dirt road camping bus trip that was put together in the splitie forum, great guy. Last week I asked him if he wanted to meet up when he got back. Seems like a great opportunity for us all to get together. Maybe some where near CB? Lots of good dirt roads near Gothic and plenty of room for a big crew to camp.

Yes please!! maybe something in late April after tax day (grumble, grumble)? Maybe a trip over Medano pass starting from the San Luis Valley side and then up the Wet Valley. There will be patches of snow but nothing we can't muster through. To be fair to the Denver folks we could do a Friday evening meet up at state park lake that is just out side of the dunes park, its free. Then head out and make a nice day of it hey Kaput..that Bus came back to life in my shop 2 years back... _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |

Monte Vista here.
We have a small VW club here in the valley. Two other bay window owners in the club who I am sure would love to join the action. April would be a good time of year to go over Medano. Would be cool to do a Southern Colorado trip. Love the Southern San Juan Wilderness and spend quite a bit of time there so I know my way around that area quite well. Cottonwood Pass from BV to Crested Butte would be fun too...but I dont think they open it up until may or so _________________ '70 Hardtop Camper 1600 w/ dual kaddies |

Loveland reporting!! We have a large group of VDubbers up here in northern CO. The club Rare Air Dub Club is on Facebook. We do lots of cruises.
I'm always working on buses and have a extensive tool selection, hit me up if your ever in the area.
I'm down for a spring rendezvous! _________________ Special Thanks to:

Alright, sounds like the juice is flowing on this idea. I would be happy to coordinate this number for late April as a Friday night/ Saturday adventure over Medano Pass with a "no Bus left behind policy". It would also be nice to have it be family friendly so that younger folk feel comfortable and enjoy the magic. Now the big question...do we invite the splitty crowd (they love to make fun of our "bayness")? I drive both, but we need some input here. Maybe a cool thread title may be in order...Medano Pass Meetup? Lets get it on! _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |

Thanks for offering to set this up, I like it. I'm bringing my 1 1/2 yr old son and one of my dogs, that's the only way my wife will let me go. . He has logged thousounds of miles in his car seat in the bus, I'm sure he'll do great.
About the splitie croud, I've already invited 2. So I'm good with it, I say the more the merrier. I think the question should be of we should start another thread in that forum. I say no that. . I agree that a separate thread in this forum would be a good idea. This way this thread stays a Co bus owner thread. I vote for you Manfred to get it going.
