Just picked up a vw keychain, I'm assuming it's dealer. But just curious as to how old/ rare it might be. Cool thing is that it's apparently local, has a local area code on it. Right now I have all my keys on it, so if it's something of value then I of course don't want to harm it.

Late 1980s or later--not rare. 850 is a relatively new area code and the VW logo/typeface is that used starting with the A2 introduction in 1985.

I appreciate the response I figured it wasn't too old. It looks like it's stainless and everything is etched in, These pictures makes it look in worse shape than it actually is.
I suppose I'll clean it up some and use it.

That's even newer than the 1980s. That's more like since 2000 that look of keyring has been around.
