I sold my last vanagon on/about 1998? To a local chap in upstate NY and wondered if it's on the Samba.
A very nice blue with white top diesel Vanagon, 1983, with a cool 5 speed.
Hope it's still rolling...... _________________ .ssS! |

Probably not "it"... but I do know of one that is currently F/S that fits that description here in Northern California. _________________ 1990 Multivan - "Ohana"

Whatever steel from it didn't turn to rust in a New York winter is probably running around behind a KIA name plate these days. |

How about you put up a VIN, and the 'new' owner could contact you (PM) if they are interested?

This is Good, I support a reunion sticky uniting past and current owners.

Two European Market Models, and one North American Market Model.
Can you guess which one is NAM? _________________ 1990 Feldjäger Syncro AAZ

Do you have the VIN? You could try a carfax and maybe get more current info? |
I always admire those with a solution. Ill have a look for the old VIN.
Im not interested in buying it, just waxing nostalgic.
It did have a cool 5 speed manual with the two year only diesel (82-83) in NA and also had a very cool (hot) auxiliary diesel heater under the floor.
I sold it when the kids were very young, 1998-9 or so.
Ill find a picture too. _________________ .ssS! |

One of my former Vanagons popped up in the classifieds a few years ago, for sale in Moab.
It was strange seeing the ad; the curtains that my wife (girlfriend at the time) had sewn herself and several other slight modifications definitely made me wax nostalgic.
Now you've got me doing it! I'm going to have to dig up VIN's and see if I can find my old ones.
Should've never sold that last one.

I currently have my van for sale. (changes in life dictate a change.) I have it posted here and on my local CL. I was contacted by the guy I bought it from 6 years ago about possibly buying it back. I emailed him back, but never heard from him again. |

Funny with the advent of the internet and my wife being a facebooker we are able to keep up with the exploits of my old 74 bay that now resides in jersey and is being well cared for. Used to be you sell a used car and its gone.
Guess the samba has become my pseudo facebook. Difference being i really dont want to know what you had for dinner unless you cooked it in your van! |
