|
|
I recently purchased a basket case 1958 Euro Rag (#2114936) Upon inspection I found the car to have a 1960 front beam. I have been trying to locate a period correct beam for the car. So far I have only located a 239... Mar/April 1959 beam. Can someone tell me if this beam would be correct or in what number range might be correct for the car?
Thanks

The car is October 58, right? Mine is a Dec. 58; if you can tell me where the numbers are I will see what is on mine. There is a guy on Craigslist here in CT selling an Aug 58 beam.... _________________ my59: Well son, my grandfather died before I got to drive it, so does that answer your question?

The numbers on the beam can be found on the passenger side bump stop casting. They can be checked on the Samba Technical page for year manufactured.

I scraped about half an inch of old grease and muck off, and the numbers, following what looked like a sideways O are 2226861 which in the Dec 58 range.
If your car is 2114936 you'd be looking for a 2125242 to 2170759 to be correct to the month of Oct 58 _________________ my59: Well son, my grandfather died before I got to drive it, so does that answer your question?
