Californication Season 6 Episode 1 Scene with a Mouse Grey & Pearl While Standard, with screen capture & yes pretty pristine for a 20+ year old bus in NYC. First appears just after the 11 minute mark

In season 3 Mel sells his pearl white '63 to the waitresses. Many good bug scenes. It doesn't run very well and you hear it actually running. Great episode. It was called "Car Wars."

I originally posted this a few weeks ago on a new post but should have posted it here so...

This frame grab is from the opening sequence from Season 1 of WKRP in Cincinnati. All 3 Beetles are beige, common colour, or an artifact of the NTSC video?

There's a Karmann Ghia behind and to the left of the bus, it looks beige also.

Now that's interesting: is it really a RHD Beetle or is the picture reversed? And we know those wipers did not park that way. They must have moved them so they would not block the actors' faces.

Sorry thats not a Beetle. Just a few observations, Windshield post to round at the upper corners, molding to fat around the windshield with rivots in the molding on top, wipers too long, folding top too far forward on the rear quarters, rear seat back too high compared to the folded top. I think the hood has an illusion of being curved forward.

Wipers on a beetle never laid in opposite directions either. At least not from the factory - my 63 used to get like that once in a while, but they never worked too well when they did.

Well, you are correct, it is NOT a Beetle (although I don't know what it is). That Beetle-like hood is actually the reflection of the windshield on the hood's sheet metal, with the hinge of the hood running down the middle.

During the beginning of Fast Times at Ridgemont High, you can see 3 ACVWs in this shot. You can also see Jefferson's (Forest Whittaker) Camaro entering the shot, as well as Brad's (Judge Reinhold) blue Buick - aka "the cruising vessel" at the bottom of the shot...

Green bay window in the beginning of the movie "Bait". Won't start at critical time. Laughing You can see it in the trailer.

A freak tsunami traps shoppers at a coastal Australian supermarket inside the building - along with a 12-foot Great White Shark.

In memory of the old, once-great Sci-fi Channel --

From the John Quixote episode of Farscape:

And this one puzzles me. It's from a great mini-series they ran, The Lost Room.

This is a Riviera, isn't it? The jealousies? The mirror? The vent window latch?

Strangely, the rest of the bus never makes an appearance. Just this quick glimpse when the protagonist is in Hell, aka Gallup, NM.

My wife wanted a VW of her own, since I was spending a lot of time restoring my sandrail. We happened to find this one listed on CL and immediately drove up to Phx /w $5k, spent $4.5 and brought it home. Since then I've added front CB disk brake kit, stereo/kicker panel speakers, pulley/belt and had it tuned at Chirco.

You're right! I knew this was a '66 when I saw the episiode...have no idea why I was thinking '63 when I posted...probably thinking of Herbie.
